piFLOW®p - vacuum conveying with high demands
The piFLOW®p product line is the most versatile premium offering among Piab vacuum conveyors.
They are available with 2, 3, 7, 14, 33 and 56 l [0.07, 0.11, 0.25, 0.49, 1.17 and 1.98 ft³] batch sizes, capable of conveying up to 15 tons per hour [30,000 lbs/h]. Regardless of the scale, piFLOW®p can cover it in a wide range of applications in the food, pharmaceutical, chemical and additive industries. The piFLOW®p series is designed with an acid-resistant stainless steel body (ASTM 316L), meets the requirements of the FDA, EC No. 1935/2004 and EU No. 10/2011.
Depending on the configuration, piFLOW®p can be supplied with ATEX Gas, ATEX Dust or both ATEX Gas and Dust certifications. PiFLOW®p transports a wide range of solid materials such as powders, granules and particles. The piFLOW®p range takes care of the transport of solid materials regardless of the scale. The smaller vacuum conveyors in the piFLOW®p range are ideal where small quantities of excipients need to be conveyed to a tablet press or where the conveyor has to work in a confined space. The medium-sized vacuum conveyors are used for feeding screens in additive manufacturing or for filling or unloading drums/bags, mixers etc. The highest capacity piFLOW®p vacuum conveyors are needed when filling reactors, mixers or filling/emptying big bags. The piFLOW®p series is available in four levels of automation. The Standard version gives you all the reliable basic functions of a vacuum conveyor. BVO or Batch Volume Optimization includes a level sensor that helps with the setting of the most important parameter, the charging timer, making the setup and operation of the vacuum conveyor easier and safer. CCO or Conveyor Cycle Optimization works with two level sensors, optimizing the entire batch and increasing ease of use. With CCO, only the volume of air conveyed needs to be manually set. Auto-tuning is a fully automatic solution that optimizes the complete system setup for extremely reduced material changeover times. It eliminates the need for manual timer settings thanks to two separate level sensors that let the electrical control unit know when the vacuum conveyor is full and when it has been completely emptied. The pipe emptying unit prevents possible pipe blockages and the air transport unit even automatically adjusts the ratio of transport air to material. The system uses machine learning and automatically tunes itself, taking into account environmental factors such as temperature and humidity and automatically adjusting as they change. Both CCO and Auto-tuning work in a system equipped with an ECU-15 electrical control unit, which saves the transported materials and recipes.
