AM / UGR air amplifiers

Powerful, adjustable and connectable to VR / VRX coolers (patented system)

AM series air flow amplifiers offer excellent performance for intake and exhaust. The quality of the design and construction optimize the Coanda effect, so they use a small amount of compressed air to create a strong, high-speed flow. They perform the dual function of vacuum and blowing: for ventilation of electrical panels, transport of fumes and light particles created by machining, transport and handling of light parts, drying and cooling. In combination with the VR series coolers, they create an effective patented system where by transferring the flow of hot air discharged by the cooler and supplying it to the AM series amplifier, the cooling performance is optimized, so that it is possible to draw hot air from outside the closed spaces or ventilation closed spaces to be cooled. The speed of the air flow can be adjusted by simply turning the nut on the inlet.

  • The shape of the construction is optimized to maximize the Coanda effect
  • Possibility of flow regulation using an adjustable ring
  • Wide vacuum and blowing section, suitable for various applications
  • No moving parts, so no wear and tear
  • No electricity or chemical products are required
  • No sparks or interference
  • Reliable and maintenance-free

Description of coanda effect

Air boosters and air knives use the Coanda effect. This phenomenon can be explained as the tendency of the fluid to follow the contour of the nearby surface. It is named after the aerodynamics pioneer Henri Coand, who in 1936 patented some devices that used a capacity of nine jets. The compressed air supplied to the booster or air knife is forced to pass through the reduced part, from 0.02 mm to 0.08 mm, and at the same time the surrounding air is entrained in the flow direction, so the air volume becomes 5 to 20 times larger than was at the entrance.

Cooler air saving – patented system

VR series coolers and AM series amplifiers are used together to draw cold air and extract warm air from the electrical cabinet simultaneously using a single compressed air supply line.

  • Effective ventilation of the electrical cabinet
  • Reduction of compressed air consumption
  • Optimized cooling results

Regardless of how much cool air is pumped into the electrical cabinet, cooling efficiency and effectiveness will never be optimal unless the warm air generated by the electrical components is properly vented at the same time. By ventilation, we mean both the creation of convection currents inside the cabinet, which effectively distribute the air around the components, as well as the removal of warm air from the cabinet itself.

By using Simian Project's patented Cooler Air Saving system, two results were achieved:
The first - with the use of VR series coolers, there is a quick and precise cooling of the components that heat the case the most, thanks to the flexibility of the installation (brackets and magnets) and the fact that the flow of cold air to the main heat sources can be precisely directed (with the help of adjustable nozzles);
The second - is the proper ventilation of the electrical box due to the suction and blowing power generated by the air flow amplifiers of the AM series, fed directly by the air flow discharged from the radiator.

A system for storing components inside the electrical distribution box

The VRX-500 cooler (Fig. 1) is powered by externally compressed air; the flow of cold air is directed by means of special adjustable nozzles to the electrical components that give off the most heat, while the exit of warm waste air is guided by the red pipe (Fig. 3) and fed to the amplifier of the AM series;
The amplifier (Fig. 2) is mounted in the upper right part of the distribution box; the through fitting enables air intake and exhaust from the cabinet; in the schematic example, its position at the top of the cabinet ensures that the extraction takes place where the most hot air accumulates and that even the electrical components located on the opposite side from the direct source of cold air remain at a temperature suitable for optimal operation

Even where through-mounting is not possible (for example, in installations in cabinets where IP protection must be guaranteed), mounting the amplifier inside the cabinet ensures forced air recycling, eliminating the concentration of warm air in the area furthest from the sources of cold air .

The patented system also works well together with industrial air conditioners in electrical cabinets with the following features:

  • Large electrical cabinets in which the cold air generated by the air conditioner has difficulty reaching all parts of the cabinet;
  • Electrical cabinets with electrical components arranged in such a way that airflow around the components is difficult;
  • Electrical cabinets in which heat is generated by several components that are located far from the area where the air conditioner draws cool air;

Note: Cooler Air Saving works with VRX-300, VRX-500 and VRX-1000 coolers along with AM-20 and AM-40 amplifiers
