Danfoss Editron ED3

Danfoss Power Solutions has launched the Editron ED3 – an on-board charger and electric power take-off (ePTO). Originally designed for road vehicles, the ED3 is now used in thousands of Volvo electric trucks. The ED3 has now been standardized with communication protocols, software and documentation for mobile machines as well.
The Editron ED3 can deliver up to 44 kW to the machine’s main high-voltage battery. This is the highest AC charging power available today. This cuts charging times in half. Using the ED3 also minimises the cost of the charging infrastructure by eliminating the need for DC chargers.
The ED3 can also be used as a high-power DC or AC power take-off (ePTO). The connected equipment draws power directly from the main high-voltage battery for up to 44 kW of DC power for auxiliary equipment (e.g. compressor, pump, ...). The ED3 can also convert power and deliver up to 43.6 kVA of single-phase or three-phase current to create an AC microgrid in the field for connecting electrical appliances (e.g. welder, hand tools, ...).
